5 Tips to Eating Out in Lyon

Navigating Lyon restaurants can be confusing.

5 Tips for Eating Out in Lyon

  1. Lunch is from 12 to 2:30, dinner is from 7 or 7:30 to about 9:30. There isn't a ton of continuous service here!

  2. Get the menu du jour! It's a 2-3 course menu that is the chef's speciality of the day. It's always a good deal and tends to be really good.

  3. Lyon restaurants are small, so make a reservation, even if it's same day.

  4. You need to get up to pay, most of the time they won't come bring you the bill.

  5. You don't need to tip. Everyone always loves a tip, but it's not compulsory in France. French servers and cooks are paid a living wage.
